This month: 9 new features — including the new and improved Bulk Updater, Cancel Survey Merge Tags, and Multi-Save Offer Selection — plus 13 improvements.

What's New

New Bulk Updater from the Subscriptions Page

New feature

Create and run bulk updates directly from the Subscriptions page. Filter down to the subscriptions you want to target, then apply up to 10 actions per job — including skip next order, change next order date, change status, remove a line item, or change a line item quantity.

Every job includes a pre-update CSV snapshot, and you can track, pause, resume, or cancel jobs from the new Bulk Updater History page.

Cancel Survey Merge Tags

New feature · Unique to Stay

Personalize your cancel survey copy with merge tags that dynamically insert a customer's first name, order number, shipping address, subscription frequency, and more. This replaces generic cancel copy with messaging that reflects each subscriber's actual account, making your survey feel less like a form and more like a conversation.

Segmentation — Line Item Quantity Condition

New feature · Unique to Stay

Build segments based on how many units of a product are in a subscription, using is, is greater than, or is less than with a numeric value. This adds precision for retention plays targeting subscribers with a certain quantity of a product, or growth campaigns tied to basket depth.

Segmentation — SKU, Line Item Unit Price, and Contains Bundle Conditions

New feature · Unique to Stay

Build segments using three new conditions: SKU (target subscribers with a specific SKU), Line Item Unit Price (filter by price using is, is greater than, or is less than), and Contains Bundle (a simple yes/no toggle for whether a subscription includes a bundle). All three plug into your existing segmentation workflow — no new steps to learn.

Cancel Survey — Multi-Save Offer Selection

New feature · Unique to Stay

Present customers with a choice of save offers on a single cancel survey screen instead of just one. In your Save Offers setup, choose Multiple Offers to Select From and add as many offers as you'd like — of any save offer type. This gives customers a stronger incentive to stay and lets you test which incentive performs best without adding extra screens.

Digital Punch Card — Multi-Gift Selection

New feature · Unique to Stay

Let customers pick their own gift from a pool of options instead of receiving one fixed reward. When a punch card reward is set to Free Product with Enable Automatic Application of Rewards turned off, choose "Yes, allow customer to choose their gift" and select which products to offer. Run your punch card program as a surprise-and-delight fixed gift or a customer-choice reward, whichever fits.

Customer Portal — SMS Opt-In Widget

New feature

If you have SMS enabled, drag the new SMS Opt-In widget into your portal layout to let customers enter a phone number and manage their SMS consent without contacting support. Phone numbers and opt-in status are validated and saved directly to the customer record.

Segmentation — Punch Card Punch Count Condition

New feature

Build subscriber segments based on Digital Punch Card punch count. The new condition supports five operators (equal to, greater than, less than, greater than or equal to, less than or equal to), and subscribers without a punch card count as zero punches — so your segments return complete results. Use it to target subscribers close to a reward, or who've already redeemed one.

Open API — Subscription REACTIVATION Webhook

New feature

Stay AI now fires a REACTIVATION webhook whenever a subscription is reactivated — set back to Active or Paused from Cancelled or Expired.

Improvements

New Bulk Updater — Swap Variant and Remove Discount Code

Improvement · Unique to Stay

Two new actions are available in the Bulk Updater: Swap Variant, which replaces a product variant across every filtered subscription (including bundle child lines and deleted variants, with optional price or quantity changes), and Remove Discount Code, which removes a specified discount code from every filtered subscription that has it. Combine either with your existing Bulk Updater actions to handle subscription-wide cleanup in a single run.

New Bulk Updater — Add Discount Code, Change Line Item Price, Add Line Item

Improvement · Unique to Stay

Three more actions are available in the Bulk Updater: Add Discount Code applies an existing Shopify discount code across your filtered subscriptions, Change Line Item Price updates the price of a selected variant across recurring, one-time, or all lines (including bundles), and Add Line Item adds a new product at a set price and quantity, one-time or recurring. All ten Bulk Updater actions can be combined in a single job.

Segmentation — Segment Membership on Subscription Detail Page

Improvement · Unique to Stay

See which segments a subscriber belongs to right on the subscription detail page. Both subscription-level and customer-level segments display as pills, so you can confirm segment membership without switching over to the Segments tab — and the section still shows an empty state if a subscription doesn't belong to any segments, so the page layout stays consistent.

Dunning — Payment Declined Email Notification Cooldown

Improvement · Unique to Stay

The Payment Declined email notification now enforces a 7-day cooldown per subscription, per billing recovery. If a subscription fails to bill again within that window, the customer won't receive a duplicate email — but a new recovery (like a failed Get It Now request) still triggers its own notification, even within seven days of the last one. This cuts down on redundant emails while a subscription works through recovery.

Gorgias — Redesigned Side Panel

Improvement · Unique to Stay

The Stay AI side panel in Gorgias has been rebuilt with significantly more subscription data and action coverage. Agents can now see customer LTV, active/paused/cancelled subscription counts, and full subscription details — including next order date, frequency, discounts, and order history — without leaving Gorgias. They can also skip, pause, cancel, reactivate, apply a discount, edit frequency, set next order date, or get it now, directly from the panel.

Cancel Flow — "Continue to Cancel" Button Style Toggle

Improvement

Control how the Continue to Cancel button appears across your Save Offer, Pre-Survey, and Cancel Survey screens. Leave the setting off to keep the button as a primary display, or turn it on to show it as a de-emphasized list item instead — your choice persists across sessions.

Cancel Survey — Multi-Question Export Support

Improvement

Cancellation survey exports now capture responses from follow-up survey screens, not just the initial cancellation reason. If you're running a multi-question survey, your exports will include which follow-up questions customers answered or abandoned, giving you a fuller picture of why customers cancel.

Cancel Flow Builder — Copy/Paste

Improvement

Copy and paste elements directly within the Cancel Flow Builder when you're building retention flows, so reusing a step, branch, or condition is faster than rebuilding it from scratch.

Summary Dashboard Analytics — Quick Stats and Queued Metrics

Improvement

Your Analytics Summary Dashboard now leads with two new sections. Quick Stats surfaces four program health indicators — subscription retention, average subscriber LTV, total subscription AOV, and net subscription change — scoped to your selected date range. Below it, a Queued for the Next 30 Days card shows queued recurring orders and queued MRR, so you can see what's coming next regardless of your date filter.

Digital Punch Cards — Full-History Analytics Export

Improvement

Digital Punch Card analytics exports are no longer capped at 60 days or limited to an instant download. By default, your export covers your program's full lifetime and arrives by email; you can still limit it to a specific date range if you'd prefer.

Open API — CANCELLATION Webhook Now Returns lineItems

Improvement

The CANCELLATION webhook, which fires when a subscription is cancelled, now returns lineItems in the response body — so you can see exactly what was in the subscription that was cancelled.

Dunning — Custom Retry Schedules

Improvement

Configure separate retry schedules for soft and hard payment declines directly in your billing settings, based on your own business logic. Stay AI routes each subscription to the right schedule based on the initial failure reason, and your existing cancellation settings still apply if retries are exhausted. Separating soft and hard decline handling helps you maximize passive recovery on resolvable failures while cutting back on retries that need customer action.

Gorgias — Multi-Store Connection Support

Improvement

If you run multiple Shopify stores on Stay AI, you can now connect all of them to a single Gorgias account. Agents viewing a customer with subscriptions across multiple stores see a separate widget per store, each showing only that store's data — no merged or ambiguous information.
