This month: 9 new features — including Dynamic Banner Ads, Executive Summary Export, and Staylien Help Article Integration — plus 15 improvements.

What's New

Dynamic Banner Ads in the Customer Portal

New feature · Unique to Stay

You can now create targeted banner experiences inside the Customer Portal based on customer segments. Each of four distinct placements supports multiple banner variations — when a customer qualifies for more than one, banners display as a carousel automatically. Banners can link anywhere, including on-page product add-ons, so customers can take action without leaving the portal.

Executive Summary Export

New feature · Unique to Stay

Export a full 14-month look-back report of your subscription program directly from the top of your Summary dashboard. The report covers monthly breakdowns across Revenue, Subscribers, Churn, and Billing Failures — giving you a comprehensive snapshot for reporting, board reviews, or internal analysis.

Staylien — Help Article Integration

New feature · Unique to Stay

Staylien can now answer support-related questions by referencing Stay AI's help articles. Ask about optimization features like Digital Punch Cards, URL Builder, and ExperienceEngine, or get guidance on Customer Portal customizations and selling plan setup — directly in Staylien.

Segment by Frequency

New feature · Unique to Stay

Frequency is now available as a condition in the segmentation builder. Create segments based on a subscription's delivery cadence to power more targeted Cancel Survey experiences, save offers, and analytics — so you can understand and act on subscriber behavior by how often they receive their products.

Customer Portal — Order Notes Widget

New feature · Unique to Stay

Order Notes is now available as a customizable widget in the Customer Portal. Place it anywhere in your portal layout to give customers visibility into order-level notes right where it's most relevant.

Cancel Survey — Cancel Reasons in the Merchant Portal

New feature · Unique to Stay

When cancelling a subscription directly from the Merchant Portal, you can now select the same cancel reason options customers see in the portal. This ensures cancel reason data is consistent across both surfaces, giving you a more complete picture of why subscribers are leaving.

Customer Portal — Inveterate Integration

New feature · Unique to Stay

Merchants using Inveterate can now migrate to the new Customer Portal without losing their loyalty functionality. The integration brings Inveterate's loyalty features together with the updated portal's design flexibility and performance in a single, modern experience.

Subscriptions — New Filters

New feature · Unique to Stay

An extensive set of new filters is now available on the Subscriptions page, including line-level filters that support sub-filter grouping. Filter by product, variant, type (recurring vs. one-time), quantity, unit price, and bundle membership — or combine with subscription-level filters for currency, frequency, shipping location, and dunning status. Built for support teams and merchants who need to find exactly the right subscriptions, fast.

Cancel Survey — Card Styles

New feature · Unique to Stay

The Cancel Survey now supports card styling from Customer Portal V3, or custom design settings configured directly within the survey. Maintain visual consistency with your portal, or tailor the cancel flow's look and feel independently — giving you more control over how content and save offers are presented.

Improvements

Segmentation — OR Condition Support

Improvement

The segmentation builder now supports OR logic alongside AND, making it easier to define broader or more nuanced audiences without creating multiple separate segments. OR-based segments can be applied across analytics and the Cancel Survey.

Cancel Survey — Bypass Confirm Cancellation Screen

Improvement

Merchants can now skip the confirm cancellation step in the Cancel Survey, sending customers directly to the cancellation complete screen. All Klaviyo and cancellation events still fire correctly — useful for reducing friction on sensitive cancel reasons or specific customer segments.

Customer Portal — Hide Buttons

Improvement

You can now natively hide specific buttons within the Customer Portal, limiting visible actions to only what's relevant for a given subscription setup or business rule. Cleaner interface, more intentional customer journey.

Customer Portal — Strike-Through Pricing

Improvement

When a discount is applied, customers will now see the original price struck through alongside the discounted price, making savings more visible at a glance. If no discount is configured, the original price displays as normal with no strikethrough.

Customer Portal — New Orders Page

Improvement

The Orders Page has been redesigned with Card Style 1, aligning visually with the rest of the new portal and eliminating the navigation jumpiness seen in the previous version. Additional customization options for the Orders Page are coming in the next few weeks.

Customer Portal — Improved Payment Method Management

Improvement

Customers will now see an "In Use" tag on any payment method currently tied to an active subscription. When a new payment method is added, it will be automatically selected for the subscription — one less step for customers updating their billing.

Require Payment Method on Reactivation

Improvement

Merchants can now require customers to add a valid payment method before reactivating a subscription. This addresses a Shopify behavior that removes payment methods at cancellation, ensuring reactivated subscriptions always have billing covered from the start.

Customer Portal — Improved Logout Redirect

Improvement

When a customer logs out of Stay, they are now automatically redirected to the login view — eliminating dead-end states and making it clear how to get back in.

Customer Portal — Variant Dropdown Visibility

Improvement

Variant dropdowns in the Customer Portal now only appear when a product actually has variants. Previously, the selector could display even when no options were available.

Cancel Survey — Delete Surveys

Improvement

Cancel Surveys can now be deleted directly from the list page. A confirmation prompt appears before deletion to prevent accidental removal. Deleted surveys are archived on the backend and can be restored if needed — useful for keeping the list clean after testing and cloning.

Subscriber Billing — Set Maximum Retries to Zero

Improvement

You can now set the maximum number of dunning retries to zero. A billing failure will either immediately cancel the subscription (if Cancel Dunned Subscriptions is enabled) or leave it active in "Dunning Expired" status — giving merchants who use third-party dunning tools full control over their own retry logic.

Inventory Handling & Partial Fulfillment Updates

Improvement

Stay AI now always attempts billing without pre-checking inventory, responding based on the error returned. This improves billing processing speed and makes subscription history events more detailed — showing exactly which lines were out of stock, which were skipped, and what caused partial fulfillment to fail. A new "Allow One-Time Line Only Orders" setting lets you partially fulfill orders when only one-time add-on lines are in stock.

Analytics — Cohort Comparison Export

Improvement

The default export of the Cohort Comparison graph on the Churn dashboard now includes all-time cohort data, rather than only the previous 13 months.

Variant Details on Hover

Improvement

Hovering over a product in any product selection surface — including Digital Punch Cards, URL Builder, and more — now shows the Variant Title and Variant ID inline. Easier to confirm the right variant without navigating away.

Open API — Discount Fields in Payment Webhooks

Improvement

The SUCCESSFUL_PAYMENT webhook now returns discount code fields (shopifySubscriptionContractDiscounts), making it easier to track discount usage in connected apps and integrations.
