Setting Up Your Stay AI x Inveterate Integration

Stay AI integrates directly with Inveterate so your subscribers can manage both their subscription and membership benefits in one place. Once connected, Stay will automatically detect subscribers who are also Inveterate members and surface their membership data, credits, and early access products within the Customer Portal.

Follow the steps below to get started.


Before You Begin

  • You must have an active Inveterate account with at least one membership tier configured

  • Your membership tiers, benefits, and discount settings must be configured in the Inveterate portal before connecting. Stay will consume whatever settings are already live there

  • You'll need your private API key from the Inveterate portal


1. Connect Inveterate to Stay AI

To connect your integration:

  1. Navigate to Integrations in the Stay AI Merchant Portal

  2. Click Integrate with Stay AI on the Inveterate card

  3. Enter your private API key, found in your Inveterate portal

  4. Click Save

Once the connection is processed successfully, Stay will automatically detect any existing subscribers who also have an active Inveterate membership.

πŸ“Œ Note: Membership tiers, benefits, and discount settings are managed entirely within the Inveterate portal. Stay reads and displays this configuration, it does not override it.


2. View Members in the Merchant Portal

After the integration is active, you can identify which subscribers are also Inveterate members directly from the merchant portal.

  • Customers page: Member tags appear next to applicable customers

  • Subscriptions page: Member tags appear next to applicable subscriptions

  • Subscription Details page: See the customer's membership start date and any available credit balance


3. Configure the Customer Portal Experience

The integration surfaces three membership features in the Stay AI Customer Portal: Early Access Products, credit redemption, and membership cancellation. No additional configuration is required in Stay; these features are driven by your Inveterate settings.

Early Access Products

If you've configured early access product collections in Inveterate, those products will appear on the Membership page in the Customer Portal. Members can add an early access product to any active subscription as a one-time add-on to their upcoming order.

Credit Application and Redemption

Stay displays any credits accrued through Inveterate on the customer's Membership page. The following credit types are supported:

  • Sign-Up Store Credits: applied when a customer joins a membership

  • Recurring Store Credits: applied on a set cadence

  • Credits for Orders: applied when a member completes a successful order, including subscription purchases

  • Anniversary Credits: applied on the anniversary of a membership

  • Store Credits for Purchase Referral: applied when a member refers a friend

Customers can view a full Credit Ledger showing all accruals and applications. When they're ready to redeem:

  1. The customer selects Redeem Credits at the top of their Membership page

  2. They choose the number of credits to apply

  3. Stay generates a coupon code for that amount, which can be applied to their subscription

⚠️ Note: For credit redemption to work in the Stay Customer Portal, you must enable discounts to apply to Both One Time and Subscription purchases. Configure this in the Inveterate portal under Settings.


Membership Cancellation

Customers can cancel their Inveterate membership directly from the Customer Portal. They will receive a cancellation confirmation email from Inveterate.
